C2E2: Lobo Revealed for Injustice Gods Among us

lobo-injustice-gods-among-us

Today during the Injustice Panel Ed Boon and the Rest of Neather Realm Studios Released the first game play of Lobo in Injustice and I have to say without even playing him he may be my new favorite character. He seems to have the moves of a brawler along with his character power of his duel guns, oh and don’t worry he uses his chains as well. Also of note in this Trailer is the reveal of Flashpoint Batman himself Thomas Wayne which tells me that Neather Realm is also going to continue creating new costumes for the game. Check out the Trailer Below and be sure to come back for my interview With Ed Boon and game designer Steve Barron.

Amazing Spider-Man #700 Predictions, Speculation, and Crackpot Theories

With the 700th issue of Amazing Spider-Man coming up this December, it’s only right that I, the Comic Vault’s resident diehard Spider-Man fan, weigh in on what may or may not happen in this momentous issue.  There are a lot of crazy theories floating around right now, but we’ll get to that in a minute.

Current scribe (and the best writer on the book since Roger Stern or David Michelinie in my opinion) Dan Slott stated via cell phone at Comic Con a few weeks ago that this is going to be the biggest thing he’s ever done in comics, which is saying a lot coming from the guy who penned the phenomenal Amazing Spider-Man #600 just three years ago.  It’s even been said that what he’s doing in #700 will be so controversial among fans that he’ll have to go into hiding after the issue hits stands, or that this might possibly be his final arc on the book. (Damn you, “Marvel NOW!”)

With the ’90s Clone Saga and J. Michael Straczynski’s “Sins Past” and “One More Day” story arcs, Spider-Man fans have a high threshold for controversy.  At this point, what could possibly be more controversial at this point than Peter Parker’s clone Ben Reilly being revealed as the real Peter Parker and taking his place, Norman Osborn knocking up Gwen Stacy prior to her death, or Peter and Mary Jane trading their marriage to Mephisto (the “devil”) in exchange for Aunt May’s life?

Really, Marvel?  What were you thinking?  That “o” face in the bottom left corner is the stuff of nightmares. And Gwen… You desecrated poor, sweet Gwen!

Maybe resurrecting Gwen Stacy could top the scenarios above, but Slott has already said he (thankfully) has no interest in doing that, as Gwen is much more meaningful dead.

Over at the CBR boards, members have been posting a plethora of crackpot theories regarding what will happen in the issue.  Some have taken a statement that Slott made at Comic Con regarding the future not looking good for Madame Web as a hint that the new Madame Web, Julia Carpenter, will be kicking the bucket soon.  Personally, I think they’re reading a bit much into this and Slott was just being Slott.  Madame Web is a clairvoyant and only has visions when something terrible is about to happen–of course the future doesn’t look good for her.

“The future…always…looks…TERRIBLE…to MEEEEEEEEEE!!!”

Regardless, below is a list of my favorite theories from that thread:

  • Black Cat shows up with a baby.
  • Norman Osborn is Peter’s father.
  • Peter pulls the plug on Doctor Octopus and then goes crazy.
  • Peter gets flung back in time, is stuck, and in a nod to his clone brother, names himself Ben Parker.  He then meets a lovely girl named May Reilly.
  • Peter gives up being Spider-Man to be with Mary Jane or Peter ends up getting killed, with either scenario leading to new sidekick Alpha taking his place.
  • Peter moves to Japan and gets a giant robot.
  • Peter goes crazy and becomes the new Green Goblin.
  • Kaine is the real Peter Parker.
  • Batman subcontracts Peter to become his new gadget man in Batman, Inc. as part of a cross-promotional deal between Marvel and DC.
  • J. Jonah Jameson is actually a 1940s reporter covering the war in Europe.  He is wounded by a grenade blast, which kills his soldier body guard Steve Rogers.  For two months, Jameson has been in a coma, and it’s revealed that the whole Marvel Universe is taking place in his mind.
  • Black Widow becomes Spider-Man’s new crime-fighting partner and Spider-Man has a clone baby from an alternate reality with Mystique.

That’s a lot of outlandishness to digest, huh?  As promised in the first paragraph, though, I also have my own predictions as to what might happen in #700.

The cover for Amazing Spider-Man #700 is a preexisting collage by a French artist named Pascal Garcin.  You could say that this makes the presence of certain characters on the cover arbitrary, but I like to think that Marvel chose to use this cover for that issue for specific reasons.  If you look closely near the bottom, to the left of the center, there’s a Carnage hidden among all of the Spider-Mans.

Hey, look…It’s a schooner!

This leads me to believe that Carnage has some involvement in this issue, perhaps killing a beloved character like Mary Jane Watson.  Despite wreaking havoc in Spider-Man’s world in two mini-series over the last two years and continuing to do so in an upcoming Venom/Scarlet Spider crossover, it’s been years since Carnage has committed mass murder in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man.  This site’s owner, Matt Sardo, even claimed to me in an e-mail that during Comic Con’s Spider-Man panel, “[The panelists] were asked what character they wanted to work with or draw. [Humberto Ramos] mentioned Carnage and then said, ‘Oh, wait.  I’ve drawn Carnage,’ and then he got dirty looks.”  What better time for Carnage to show up and do something chaotic than the book’s 700th issue, 24 years after the character’s “father,” Venom, debuted in Amazing Spider-Man #300?

Speaking of Venom, the border of the eyes on that collage is composed of the character.  I’m going to go ahead and also predict that if Peter doesn’t find out by then that Flash is the guy wearing the Venom symbiote by #700, he’ll probably find out there.

If I’m wrong about Carnage, then the next likely scenario is that the Roderick Kingsley Hobgoblin, rumored to return in the upcoming “Danger Zone” arc, shows up and kills someone.  Either way, I think someone is dying in #700.  Mary Jane is a likely choice, though I’d rather not see that happen.  Sardo wants Aunt May to die, and I have yet to figure out what he has against sweet, little old ladies.  Her husband, J. Jonah Jameson, Sr. may be a more likely candidate for the grave, or possibly other characters that have grown on fans in recent years–like NYPD forensic detective/most recent Peter Parker ex Carlie Cooper or Daily Bugle reporter Norah Winters.

Or maybe in their infinite wisdom, Marvel, seeing that it worked so well in Ultimate Spider-Man, actually do decide to kill off mainstream (Earth-616 for you nerds out there) Peter and replace him with his new sidekick Alpha, at which point they’ll lose me as a reader.  Just because something worked in one universe doesn’t mean it should be spread to the others.

But seriously… Keep any sweet, elderly women you hold dear away from this man.

Review : Batman #3 Snyder’s Batman is still a Badass

Batman#3

Story By: Scott Snyder

Art By: Greg Capullo

Review Score: 9.5 / 10

Scott Snyder continues to show that he’s not done  adding layers to both Gotham City and Bruce Wayne’s troubled family tree. It’s as if he’s been plotting Batman stories since he was five years old . Snyder takes us to Gotham City circa 1922 where we are  introduced to Alan Wayne who has become delirious and is muttering about Owl’s and how they are nesting in his home. Unfortunately for Alan his crazed state causes him to misstep an open man-hole cover and fall to his death.

Snyder has an amazing talent of using history and bits of dialogue to tie into his story beats happening in the present. Batman has decided that the only way The Owl from last issue could have infiltrated his building was through the train tunnel lines . Which leads to a brush with the Whisper Gang . Snyder spends most of the fight explaining why the Whisper Gang are a very serious threat to Batman. Mean while Capullo’s pencils continue to prove that he has an amazing grasp on what makes Batman so imposing . The fight is kinetic and fast paced . Capullo draws Batman like a force of nature .  He fights with reckless abandon , and Snyder’s always coming up with creative toys for Batman to use.  Each issue thus far has had a holy s#!t moment ,  this issues moment involves a passing train and a well placed magnet. I don’t want to spoil it for you but I was smiling from ear to ear .

Bruce realizes that the tunnel’s are a dead-end in his investigation and heads back to the Bat Cave. In the cave Alfred informs Bruce of his Ancestor Alan and his obsession with Owl’s in his last years. Snyder tells us that Alan was a superstitious man , in fact he was one of the first men to decide to cut the 13th floor from each building he built. However being the superstitious man that he was he made sure to leave one small floor in its place in each building. This bit of information along with Batman telling us the readers about the territorial  habits of Owl’s makes for one hell of a twist ending to this issue. It appears that the Court of Owls have set up shop in the vacant 13th floor of every Building built or funded by Alan Wayne since the early 1920’s

You get a sense that Batman is in over his head , and Capullo draws the last scenes of the book with great attention to detail. Seeing Bruce slowly realize that he’s in over his head is a great way to end this issue . Snyder and Capullo continue to tell a very entertaining and satisfying story. Whats more incredible is that the two compliment each other extremely well. This book is fun , creative and is worth every penny of its $2.99 selling price. Highly Recommended!

New 52 Review: Aquaman #2

Aquaman#2

Written by: Geoff Johns

Art by: Ivan Reis and Joe Prado

Review Score: 7 / 10

After a solid first issue from Geoff Johns , this issue of Aquaman moves by at a very slow pace . In fact not a lot happens story wise this issue. We see the carnage that is left after the Piranha looking creatures introduced last issue have had their fill of “food”. This prompts a local detective to track down Aquaman so that he can lend his unique skills to the investigation. The quieter scenes inside of Aquamans lighthouse apartment with Mera are good. You can tell she is completely enamored with him and you believe that they truly belong together.

This leads Aquaman and Mera to go and investigate the crime scene and all hell breaks loose. Again Reis and Prado knock the art out of the park with this book. The action scenes are all framed perfectly and there is a great sense of weight with each movement and attack . The creatures themselves are full of great detail including several tears in their skin and a very cool slimline yet grotesque body.

My biggest complaint is that these Piranha creatures continue to have only one motivation  , which is to eat . The ending however does show that they may have found their purpose for coming ashore now, and that is Aquaman himself. It ends with us being teased a future in which we will learn more about our antagonists and that’s just enough to make me hooked for the next issue. There is solid work continuing to be done here and I’m hoping for some answers come next issue .

Worst of the week: Justice League International #2

Justice League International #2

Story by: Dan Jurgens

Art by: Aaron Lopresti

Review Score: 3 / 10

I’m openly going to admit that I am a member of the Booster Gold fan club . I was disappointed at the news of his series getting cancelled but saw that there was a new Justice League International series coming . “Ok” I though to myself this could be good , after all JLI Generations Lost was the better of the 2 Bi Monthly books DC came out with last year, and Dan Jurgens has been writing Booster Gold for quite some time now. How bad can this book be?

After 2 issues this book is bad , very bad. Lets start with the writing . Characterization is all over the place and feels forced . Batman seems like a wimp , Guy Gardner comes off as creepy and jaded , instead of stern and self assure , and Booster Gold has turned into a Cry baby with a short attention span who is constantly giving up his role as leader only to come back on the next page to make silly statements like “If you want me to lead , fine I’ll do it” very compelling stuff here. Oh and Skeets , who is Booster Golds’ flying sentient computer buddy is only spoken to off screen , because he now holds down the fort in ” Booster Cave” . I constantly find myself going “huh” while I read this book .

Marvel called , they want Galactus's Costume back

This issue starts with our heroes being attacked by a hulking robot. We later learn that there isn’t only one robot …but four! Dan Jurgens names these robots Signalmen and at the end of this issue we see that there is a new Alien threat making its way to earth by way of The Signalmens’ transmitters.  The look of this alien completely rips off one of the most recognizable Cosmic characters in Marvel Comics history . Let me just say The Devourer of Worlds would not be happy.

It’s shame that a book with  such rich history and characters chose to play it safe .  Judd Winnick wrapped up a definitive take on this team less than a year ago. I would recommend picking that series up in trade form to those of you that are interested in giving this team a try . This is a book that isn’t reader friendly to fans of the series past or fans who are new to the franchise.  The art is the one saving grace of the series so far ,  but isn’t enough to have this be the first of  DC’s New 52 that may get taken off of my pull list.

DC’s New 52: Lesser known titles you should add to your pull list

Dc’s new 52 has been a shockingly  successful experiment in my opinion at least after this first month. If you’re like me you have to pick and choose what comics you get each week .  We all know Superman , Batman , Wonder Woman and Green Lantern are going to sell and the reboot  has injected new life into each of those respective books.  However there have been a few Comics and characters that belong at the top of your pull list along with the aforementioned Superheroes. I wanted to highlight a few of those titles below and give props to the creative teams that are making me giddy with excitement for issue #2.

Batwoman #1

Written by : J.H. Williams III & W.  Haden Blackman

Art by: J.H. Williams III

Let me start by saying this was one of the books I was most excited about but also  most worried about. Over a year ago Detective Comics handed itself over to writer Greg Rucka and artist J.H. Williams while Bruce Wayne was Traveling through time with identity issues . This lead to an amazing run on Detective Comics that helped set the tone and character for Batwoman rebooting with issue #1 . After much delay and a change in writers ( Greg Rucka left and handed over shared writing duties ) Batwoman is back again in a issue #1 and it is just as spectacular as it was a year ago.

Immediately J.H. Williams’ Art and Layouts will knock your socks off. He uses a painterly style with Batwoman and pencils and inks for her alter ego Kate Kane  . The Layouts themselves are some of the most creative Ive ever seen . You can tell every panel is thought out and you could spend an hour on each page easily making this one of the most beautiful titles of the relaunch. Further more I’m impressed with the ease at which our writing team is able to drop you right into the story and still inform you of the characters interactions and back story . The plot is great, and the antagonists are perfectly creepy. A well timed argument towards the end of the issue catches you up on anything you may have missed over a year ago while also continuing to push the story  forward with ease. This book is amazing and is firing on all cylinders and deserves your attention.

Best surprise of the new 52 launch so far

Animal Man #1

Writer: Jeff Lemire

Artist: Travel Foreman and Dan Green

Jeff Lemire uses a very ingenious way to bring us into the story, and catch us up on all things Animal Man by having us read an interview featuring our title character on the first page. What follows is a double page spread showing Buddy Baker settling into his new life as Father and family man. This is a very grounded book which is great for building tension in a book where no one feels “safe” . Buddy however has an itch to go back out on Patrol as Animal Man and things go from bad to worse by the end of the issue. The art is greatly detailed with nice muted colors and a dream sequence with which the artist uses  ink wash with pops of  red to really create a sense of anguish and dread. However its the cliff hanger at the end involving  his daughter Maxine ,  who has a unique take on her fathers power that has me biting at my nails to check out the next issue.

Swamp Thing #1

Writer : Scott Snyder

Artist : Yanick Paquette

Scott Snyder, who has been  on a roll recently with Batman and Detective Comics now flexes his writing muscles on the new Swamp Thing reboot.  Right off the bat we are introduced to a future Metropolis with Superman noticing Dead birds falling from the sky and then we are quickly sent to the Bat cave where we see Batman puzzled as his pet bats scatter and fall all around him. Scott Snyder quickly chooses to bring us into Alec Hollands life as he is now working in construction giving up his life’s work as a scientist in the process.  For fans wanting to get a taste of what Superman will look and sound like after he’s grown out of his T shirt and jeans phase , look no further. Superman and Alec Holland share a great moment together in the opening pages that touches on how important of a character he is to the DC Universe now. I especially like the stern and direct approach Alec takes with Superman . Also having Alec remember all of Swamp Things memories from his long storied past is a nice way to show us that there is going to be a symbiotic relationship again between the two characters in the near future.

Yanick Paquette does amazing things with foliage and dead animals in this book . Necks get twisted , creepy bugs fly into ears, and people die in horrible ways , this by no means is kid stuff. After this first issue I’m convinced he was the perfect choice for art duties. The immediate threat as gruesome and shocking as it is , borrows a bit from The Happening .  Instead of their being creepy wind , we get creepy wind with an actual disgusting monster. Scott however manages to inject enough intrigue and despair at the end of the issue with Swamp Thing coming back to claim his host.  I am counting the days for the next issue to see how all of these story threads play out.

Fall / Winter Comic Book Games Preview

Welcome to my first post .  Comic books now have become not only big business in the movie industry but also the video game industry as well.  It seems each week a new property is being snatched up by a fledgling game studio and churned out to the masses . In this feature I’m going to preview quite a few Comic book driven titles being released through the holiday and share with you my excitement as to why these titles may deserve your hard earned money.

Release Date 9/27/11

Coming out today is  X Men Destiny .  In this game we have a familiar action / beat em up with some RPG  elements thrown in the mix. You choose between three new characters as well as one of three separate s X gene powers.  The story forces you to  choose a side between The Brotherhood led by Magneto or  The X Men led by Cyclops in a future where Xavier has been murdered and the Purifiers seem to be set up as the main villains of the story.

Why you should care:

With a customizable character that you can alter to mimic your favorite heroes from Wolverine’s healing ability to Cyclops’ optic blasts, the only thing that may ruin the ability for this game to succeed would be the repetitive nature of its fighting mechanics. If it can change up the pace and quests,  having the ability to fight alongside your favorite X Men heroes and villains could be a fun way to spend a weekend or two.

Release Date : 10/4/11

One week after Activision drops X Men Destiny they will follow it up with Spider-man  Edge Of Time . This is a third person action adventure game starring 2 versions of Spider-man. The Amazing Spider-man  as we all know and love him and fan favorite Spider-man 2099 .  The story will deal with time travel as both Spider-men try to undo the untimely death of Peter Parker. Yes you read that right the game starts off by telling you that you have to prevent Peter Parker’s death.

Why you should care:

First off the story for the game was written by none other than comic book genius and current X-Factor writer Peter David himself so expect a well written plot filled with humor and more twists and turns then you could imagine.  This will also be your first chance to see Anti  – Venom in a video game !

Release Date : 10/18/11

The follow up to arguably 2009’s game of the year takes place after the events of Arkham Asylum . At the end of that game you successfully stopped the Joker from taking over the Asylum . Now Hugo Strange has decided to use the failure of Arkham Asylum as a publicity stunt to put into effect his new creation Arkham City .  The majority of you that have played the first game can expect everything you loved to be amped up to 11 with a longer campaign mode , the ability to not only play as Batman but Catwoman as well with her own branching story, as well as a host of fan service to die hard fans of everything Caped Crusader.

Why you should care:

I was obsessed with finding every little nook and cranny of  fan service in the last game and this one should be no different. The game is filled to the brim with content and secret areas to find as well as a new and improved Riddler Challenges .  The list of Villains alone that are  going to be in this game are reason enough to buy it. Confirmed for the game already are The Penguin, Deadshot , Talia Al Ghul , Joker , Twoface , Zsaz , Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy , and many many more! You will get this game and you love every moment of it trust me.

Release Date : 11/15/11

Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom is coming a mere half  a year after  the original release. Capcom has taken a lot of fire recently for re releasing games immediately after for extra cash . However this game deserves your attention .  12 new fighters 6 for Capcom and 6 for Marvel highlight a list of new features for the game .  The new characters for Marvel are Hawkeye , Ghost Rider , Iron Fist , Dr. Strange, Nova , and Rocket Raccoon! Joining Capcoms side are Firebrand  , Phoenix Wright Attorney at law , Frank West form Dead Rising , Vergil from  Devil May Cry , Nemesis the hugely popular STARS killing machine  , and Strider Hyru . Also, there will be more balanced game play and 8 new stages to battle it out and talk trash to your friends .

Why you should care:

ROCKET RACCOON!! If your on this site than your a hard core comic book fan. I have to applaud Capcom and Marvels decision to throw lesser known characters into the game and introduce them to the masses . I cannot wait to play this game amongst friends and play my new team of Nova , Rocket Raccoon and Iron Fist .

Well that about covers it . Look forward to Reviews on Arkham Asylum and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom when they arrive and thanks for reading!

But can Cindy foil the dark plot before Fabletown and its hidden, exiled inhabitants are exposed once and for all? And how does her long lost Fairy Godmother factor into the equation? Whether she’s soaring through clouds, deep-sea diving, or cracking jaws, Cindy travels from Manhattan to Dubai and hooks up with a handsome, familiar accomplice who may be harboring secret motives of his own. Meanwhile, trouble brews back home in Fabletown when Cindy’s overworked, underappreciated assistant decides to seize control of The Glass Slipper, Cindy’s exclusive shoe boutique.

Writer Chris Roberson (occasional contributor to HOUSE OF MYSTERY and JACK OF FABLES), artist Shawn McManus (SANDMAN, THESSALY: WITCH FOR HIRE) and evocative new cover painter Chrissie Zullo deliver Cindy’s first major solo adventure replete with sex, spies and magical shoes in the 6-issue CINDERELLA: FROM FABLETOWN WITH LOVE.

[singlepic=113,320,240,,left]LOBO HIGHWAY TO HELL #1 (OF 2)
Written by Sam Kieth.

A Lobo story like nothing you’ve seen before! You can imagine that when you live life the way the Main Man lives life – loud, loose, and ludicrously violent – you might pick up an enemy or two along the way. An enemy like, say, oh I don’t know, Satan himself. And Satan, my friends, does not play around. Hell’s iron-fisted ruler has a serious mad-on for the last Czarnian, and he’s gonna hit Lobo right in his blackened, scabrous heart. So Lobo’s just gonna have to hit him harder. Repeatedly. In the FACE. But first, Lobo has to go to Hell…a little sooner than anticipated! Metal icon Scott Ian of Anthrax makes his comics debut, joining forces with visionary creator Sam Kieth to bring you a Lobo story that’s so over the top, you won’t even remember what the top used to look like! Bleeding dolphins, demonic Chihuahuas, the world’s worst cruise ship, exploding moons, severed heads, and still more sick fraggin’ stuff all await you on the Highway to Hell – don’t miss a single twisted page! On sale November 4 o 1 of 2 o 64 pg, FC, $6.99 US

ASSAULT ON NEW OLYMPUS[singlepic=111,320,240,,right]
Written by Rodney Buchemi, Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente.

Hercules! Spider-Man! Ares! New Avengers! Wolverine! Mighty Avengers! The Agents of Atlas! If there’s a bigger event this fall, we don’t know what it could be! At long last, the Prince of Power takes the fight to his villainous stepmother Hera and the forces of the Olympus Group — just as she unleashes the most terrifying threat the Marvel Universe has ever seen! But first Herc has to gather together a star-studded strike force from the ranks of the New and the Mighty Avengers! First on the list: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN! But why is Everyone’s Friendly Neighborhood fighting against Hercules? Has he joined the side of the dark gods? It’s webs and wisecracks versus Olympian power in this super-sized one-shot! (There will be major property damage, we guarantee.) Plus: The iHerc team proudly welcomes our new INCREDIBLE HERCULES on-going back-up feature… THE AGENTS OF ATLAS, written by fan favorite scribe Jeff Parker! When the forces of New Olympus target Venus, will Jimmy Woo lead his team into the fray for or against Hercules’ forces?

New Comics for the Week of 10/14/09

Here are the books coming out for the week of October 15, 2009. I also highlighted two new books coming out this week as well.

Web of Spider-Man #1Web of Spider-Man #1
Written by Tom DeFalco, J.M. DeMatteis, Ron Frenz, Val Semeiks.

Tying into upcoming events in Amazing Spider-Man including WHO IS BEN REILLY? and THE GAUNTLET! Even with all the action jam-packed into every issue of Thrice Monthly Spidey, we STILL don’t have enough room to tell the wall-crawler’s exploits! So BEHOLD! The brand-new, state of the art WEB OF SPIDER-MAN! THRILL! To the return of KAINE, the ill-fated Peter Parker Clone – where has he been all these years? Where is he now? And how does it tie into KRAVEN?! Then – MARVEL! At the continuing adventures of May-Day Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Girl! And More! Get caught in the web this October!

Anchor #1Anchor #1
Written by Brian Churilla, Phil Hester.

The Anchor. Holy warrior, unholy war. Freak of nature, beast of burden, hulking outcast, medieval prize fighter, Viking raider, God’s leg-breaker. One thousand years ago a hulking outcast sought refuge in the crumbling ruins of an ancient monastery, offering in return the one thing he had to give – his fists. Transformed into an immortal warrior monk standing at the gates of Hell itself to keep our world free from its invading armies, The Anchor is mysteriously tricked into centuries of slumber. But today, this holy warrior rises to battle all the unholy monsters unleashed during his slumber. Cataclysmic action, quirky humor, and profound pathos for fans of Hellboy and The Goon. Covers by Brian Churilla and Rafael Albuquerque.

New Comics for the week of 09/30/09

[singlepic=101,320,240,,left]Comic Spotlight: Die Hard Year One #1
Written by Howard Chaykin, Stephen Thompson.

America’s greatest action hero is translated into the sequential art form for the first time! Every great action hero got started somewhere. Batman Began. Bond had his Casino Royale. And for John McClane, more than a decade before the first Die Hard movie, he’s just another rookie cop, an East Coast guy working on earning his badge in New York City during 1976’s Bicentennial celebration… and the Summer of Sam. Too bad for John McClane, nothing’s ever that easy. Join legendary industry creator Howard Chaykin on a thrill ride that’s rung up over $1 billion in box office worldwide and become the gold standard for classic action! Yippee Ki Yay! Covers by Dave Johnson, Jock, and John Paul Leon.

Here are the rest of the book coming out this week.
