Smoke and Mirrors’ twitter page (@SmokeMirrorsIDW) sent the Comic Vault a five-page preview of Smoke and Mirrors #1 written by Mike Costa with art by Ryan Browne, with a variant cover by Fiona Staples. Smoke and Mirrors is a five-issue series with issue one landing in your local comic book store on March 21st, 2012.
Costa gained his fame on IDW’s G.I. Joe and most recently worked on DCU’s New 52 Blackhawks relaunch. Browne is a Chicago artist that found a niche market with his God Hates Astronauts. Here is Costa, Browne and Jon Armstrong’s explanation of the series.

We are an all-new, creator-owned comic from IDW Publishing. Kicking off in March 2012, this five-issue series will set a unique standard for comics. Created by award-winning writer Mike Costa (GI JOE: COBRA, Blackhawks) and acclaimed indie-artist Ryan Browne (God Hates Astronauts, Blast Furnace), SMOKE AND MIRRORS is also the first comics project for Jon Armstrong who is one of the finest sleight-of-hand artists in the world and a consulting Imagineer for Disney Entertainment. This innovative team has incorporated engaging, mind-bending illusions and mentalism principles into SMOKE AND MIRRORS, creating an amazing magical experience using only ink and paper.
